Patricia jenkins Gibson

Arequipa, Peru 1954

Patica Jenkins’ work delves into geometric abstraction, exploring color, form and visual perception. Her piece 'Rojo Rojísimo' intertwines the visual essence of Peru with a homage to the master José Sabogal, fusing chromatic synthesis with the influence of Mondrian.

After leaving law, Jenkins discovered a new way of constructing meaning in art. Her approach, described as geometric poetic illusionism, challenges traditional visual canons. She proposes a universe of chromatic tensions in which each colour has a precise purpose. Through her work, Patica reinterprets the colour palette as an exercise in balance between the formal, the perceptual and the contextual, creating a thought-provoking visual language. Her art transcends conventional representation, becoming a field of perceptual variations that defy the idea of a single meaning.
